The Constitutional Court Decided: The Istanbul Convention is Against the Bulgarian Constitution
The Istanbul Convention blurs the boundaries between the sexes and this would make it harder to fight domestic violence. It therefore contradicts the constitution, the Constitutional Court decided on Friday with a majority of 8 to 4 votes.

Tanya Raykovska, Deputy Chair of Bulgaria's Supreme Court of Cassation (VKS), has been elected Judge at the Constitutional Court (KS).
Raykovska won a run-off with Boyan Magdalinchev, Deputy Chair of the Supreme Administrative Court (VAS).

Bulgaria's Supreme Judicial Council (VSS) has elected Tanya Raykovska interim Chair of the Supreme Court of Cassation (VKS).
Thursday is the last day in office of the incumbent, Lazar Gruev, and a new VKS Chair is to be elected on January 29, 2015.
During its Thursday sitting, VSS launched the procedure for the election of a successor of Gruev.
Judicial Council Moves to Elect Chair of Supreme Court of Cassation
The Supreme Judicial Council (VSS) is to launch a procedure for the election of a Chair of the Supreme Court of Cassation (VKS) on Thursday.
Nominations will be received during the VSS sittings on November 27 and December 4, according to the BGNES news agency.
The first possible date for the election of VKS Chair is January 29, 2015.
