This is what Bulgarian President Rumen Radev stated during the official ceremony on the occasion of May 24, the Bulgarian Education and Culture, and Slavonic Literature Day, in front of the St. St. Cyril and Methodius National Library, FOCUS News Agency reported.

Bulgaria's poet, playwright, script writer and translator Valeri Petrov  passed away at the age of 94 in Sofia Military Hospital on Wednesday, reports the Bulgarian National Radio.

In the past few days he was in a coma the intensive care unit of the hospital, after suffering a massive stroke in the end of last week.

Bulgarian poet, playwright, script writer and translator Valeri Petrov is in a serious condition in the intensive care unit of the Military Hospital in Sofia, report the media. 

Petrov, 94, suffered a massive stroke in Varna last week and was transported to Sofia over the weekend.

According to medics, quoted by the media, Petorv is in a coma and on mechanical ventilation.
