More loans repaid than taken out in February

BELGRADE - The credit activity of banks in Serbia is stagnating, with more loans repaid than taken out in February, Secretary General of the Association of Serbian Banks (UBS) Veroljub Dugalic said on Wednesday.

He expressed the expectation that the National Bank of Serbia (NBS) would put all banks to stress test as recently agreed with the International Monetary Fund (IMF).

Lending activity down by 2% in 2014

BELGRADE - The total credit debt of legal entities dropped by two percent compared to 2013, while the debt of citizens increased by around nine percent, the Association of Serbian Banks stated on Monday.

The debt per capita arising from loans and leasing services increased from EUR 834 in 2013 to EUR 861 in 2014.

BELGRADE -- Serbian Finance Minister Lazar Krstić said on Tuesday that he believes a revision of the country's budget will be adopted in August or in mid-September.

This will take place "after the flood damage estimates and assessment of their effect on the state budget are completed."
