Acropolis Museum Family Fun | Athens | December 16-31

The Acropolis Museum has put together a program of fun educational events this holiday season for families with children. These include a workshop (in Greek only) in which participants will build a miniature version of an ancient Greek temple with Lego, narratives (in Greek and English) on the people, heroes and monsters of Greek mythology, and music events.

Acropolis Birthday | Athens | June 20

The Acropolis Museum celebrates its eighth birthday on Tuesday, June 20. With free admission from 8 p.m. onwards, the museum will screen a film about recent findings from the caves around the Acropolis, sites that were first inhabited in prehistoric times, and developed into important places of worship in antiquity.

Acropolis Museum to take part International Museum Day (programme)

The Acropolis Museum will be taking part in worldwide International Museum Day and the European Nights of Museums celebrations taking place and around May 18 with a series of actions and events. The theme chosen for 2017 is “Museums and contested histories: Saying the unspeakable in museums”.

German president visits Acropolis Museum
