Italy special forces board Turkish vessel after alert over unidentified passengers
A Turkish cargo vessel that Italian special forces boarded after the crew detected a group of unidentified people on board is now sitting off the southern city of Naples, website MarineTraffic showed, while police continue to investigate the situation.
"Everything ended well," Italian minister Guido Crosetto wrote on Twitter.
The government has decided: A state of emergency has been declared
The state of emergency will be valid for six months and should first enable the payment of five million euros to particularly affected regions in the south of Italy, it was confirmed to the DPA agency from the office of Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni in Rome.
Knife attack in Italy kills 1, wounds soccer player, others
A man grabbed a knife from a supermarket shelf on Oct. 27 and stabbed five people, killing one and wounding four others, including Spanish soccer player Pablo Mari, Italian authorities said.
Police arrested a 46-year-old Italian man suspected in the attack at a shopping center in Assago, a suburb of Milan, carabinieri said.

Vucic: EU must say whether it is interested in Serbia's membership
BELGRADE/ROME - For Serbia, it is crucial that the EU respond whether, and in what timeframe, it is interested in Serbia's membership, Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic said on Wednesday.
In an interview with the Italian ANSA news agency, he said this was the crucial issue for Serbia and that it was no longer willing to listen to promises.

It is crucial for Serbia that the EU responds whether, and in what time-frame, it is interested in Serbia's membership, says President Aleksandar Vucic.

Macedonian Islamic State recruiter arrested in Italy
A special unit of Italian Carabinieri have arrested a Macedonian citizen near Venice, on suspicion that he recruited Islamic State fighters.
Italian agency ANSA is reporting that the person detained was "introduced to radical Islam by an unnamed Bosnian imam."
