Heavy rain, floods hit Italy, 5 killed in Tuscany
Torrential rain in Italy triggered flooding that killed at least five people on Sept. 10 in the Tuscan port town of Livorno, including four family members trapped by rising water in their basement.
The Italian news agency ANSA said the bodies of a 4-year-old boy, his parents and grandfather were found in the flooded basement of their two-family home.

Costa Concordia captain Schettino sentenced to 16 years
An Italian court on Feb. 12 sentenced Costa Concordia captain Francesco Schettino to 16 years and one month in prison for causing the 2012 cruise ship disaster which claimed 32 lives.
Schettino, 54, was sentenced at the end of a 19-month trial, three years after the giant liner struck rocks off the Tuscan island of Giglio.

Sunken cruise ship Concordia to be scrapped in Italy
An Italian port has beaten off foreign competition to scrap the hulk of the Costa Concordia cruise ship that sank off the Tuscan coast in 2012, leaving 32 dead.
"I can confirm that... the dismantling of the ship will take place in an Italian port," Transport Minister Maurizio Lupi said Friday.
