Terim under fire after poor result against Iceland

Turkish national team coach Fatih Terim was left on the hot seat following a 2-0 defeat against a rising Iceland in a 2018 World Cup qualification group match late on Oct. 9 in Reykjavik.

Even some soft-tongued critics, including former Turkish international Rüştü Reçber, have called on Terim to resign. 

Bulgaria's Berbatov 'Could Replace Napoli Player'

Bulgarian striker Dimitar Berbatov is one of the names considered by Napoli as a replacement to injured Arkadiusz Milik, Football Italia has said.

His name is among the four options for the Italian team after Milik is expected to be out of action for four months, the others being Emmanuel Adebayor, Marouane Chamakh or Kevin Kuranyi, according to the website.

After home win over Cyprus, national team in Estonia

Greece's national soccer team is visiting Tallinn on Monday for its World Cup 2018 qualifying game against host Estonia, following its victory over Cyprus on Friday. Costas Mitroglou and Petros Mantalos scored first-half goals in Greece's 2-0 win, which saw the Greek side make two wins in as many games in the group, keeping it at the top along with Belgium.

Turkey faces Ukraine test on road to World Cup

The Turkish international football team hosts Ukraine in the Central Anatolian province of Konya on Oct. 6 in its bid to advance to the 2018 World Cup in qualification Group I.
All three games in the group ended in draws on the first matchday, with Turkey grabbing one point with a 1-1 draw in Croatia amid ongoing debates over coach Fatih Terim's squad selection.

Bulgaria's Weather Service Warns of Strong Winds in Half of Country

A Code Yellow warning has been issued for 16 of Bulgaria's 28 regions, the meteorology institute of the country has said.

The regions affected are comprise most of Northern Bulgaria, including Vidin, Montana, Vratsa, Pleven, Lovech, Gabrovo, Veliko Tarnovo, Ruse, Targoviste, Shumen, Razgrad, Silistra, Varna and Dobrich.
