A new report shows that the average rent increase in Istanbul has been lingering around 60 percent, while the difference reached 90 percent in some districts, especially in neighborhoods along the Bosphorus Strait and areas with mass housing.
Heavy rain causes flash floods in Istanbul
Sudden rainfall has disrupted life in Istanbul, flooding houses and shops and leaving vehicles stranded in traffic following the meteorology authority's warning for 22 provinces over unexpected weather conditions.

Turkey conducts nationwide anti-narcotics operations
Turkish police carried out wide-scale anti-narcotics operations covering all provinces, security sources said on May 24.
An operation based in Istanbul and Ankara was conducted simultaneously in all 81 provinces against drug sellers, said a security source on condition of anonymity due to restrictions on speaking to the media.
Istanbul hit by heavy storm
Turkey's largest city was hit with a heavy storm early on Feb. 9, with trees and roofs toppled.
The storm began with light rain on Istanbul's European districts including Sultangazi, Gaziosmanpaşa, Bakırköy, Bağcılar, Beyoğlu, Kağıthane, Bayrampaşa and Esenler.

A fierce storm hit Turkey's largest metropolis Istanbul early on Feb. 9, damaging dozens of buildings with roofs blown away and trees lying toppled on the streets.
Following light rain, fierce storms hit Istanbul's districts on the European side, including Sultangazi, Bakırköy, Bağcılar, Beyoğlu, Kağıthane, Bayrampaşa and Esenler districts.
Coronavirus hits districts unevenly in large Turkish provinces

Dozens of illegal rifles, pistols found in shop selling circumcision clothes in Istanbul
Some 130 illegal rifles and 30 pistols were discovered during a raid on a shop selling circumcision clothes in Istanbul's Bayrampaşa district late on March 27.
Bayrampaşa police found unlicensed pump rifles when carrying out examinations on weapons vendors in the district. The police then tracked down the owner of the vendor and determined that illegal arms sales were occurring.
Huge fire breaks out at plastic factory in Istanbul
There were no initial reports of injuries or casualties and there were also no reports about the cause of the fire, according to Doğan News Agency.
The incident occurred at a factory producing rubber and plastic at the Baltaş industrial estate in Bayrampaşa at 10:30 a.m.
