Behrakis

The Thessaloniki Museum of Photography is presenting an exhibition dedicated to Greek photographer Yannis Behrakis (1960-2019) with material from the rich archive of the internationally renowned photojournalist.

Dr Panagiotis Behrakis, director of the Institute of Public Health at the American College of Greece, who is heading a council of experts steering the Greek government's anti-smoking campaign, said he believes Greek society is ready for a full enforcement of the ban.

The first Athens Photo World got under way last week with a rich program of events aimed at showcasing the important work being done by photojournalists who acquaint the public with important events and people all over the world, while also imbuing these depictions with their own personal style.

The 2019 World Press Photo exhibition, displaying the most important events of the past year through the lenses of the globe's leading photojournalists, will open at 6 p.m. on Friday, June 7, at the Stavros Niarchos Foundation Cultural Center (SNFCC) in Athens.

Greek photographer Alkis Konstantinidis is among a group of Reuters photographers to receive a Pulitzer Prize for their photos of migrants from Central and South Americans crossing the US border.
