Austria's leading telecom A1, which owns the mobile operator of the same name in Bulgaria, has announced that it has allowed its customers to pay with cryptocurrency in a pilot project aimed at testing the popularity of virtual payments, BNR reported.

Customers can pay with bitcoin, litecoins, dash and other cryptocurrencies in certain stores in the country, the company said.

The world's most popular cryptocurrency bitcoin overcame the $ 10,000 psychological barrier, according to trade data.

According to the CoinMarketCap portal, at 20:31 (Bulgarian time), the value of the bitcoin jumped 7.36% to $ 10,013.

At Bitfinex, just a few minutes before, the cryptocurrency hit reached $ 10,047.

Leading cryptocurrency bitcoin has lost 24 percent in the last 24 hours, plunging to $6,000 on Tuesday. Bitcoin has lost more than two-thirds of its value in less than two months.
