At the first sitting of the cabinet for 2019, Prime Minister Boyko Borissov reminded the cabinet ministers of the plan to cut staff in the administration which should be carried through, reported the Bulgarian National Radio.

The summit between Bulgaria, Greece, Romania and Serbia in Belgrade began with the participation of Bulgarian Prime Minister Boyko Borisov together with Alexis Tsipras, Viorica Dunchila and Alexander Vucic.

Bulgarian Prime Minister Boyko Borissov will visit Belgrade to participate in a Quadrilateral Summit between Bulgaria, Greece, Romania and Serbia, the government press office said.

U.S. Secretary of State Mike Pompeo said the United States would continue to strengthen security relations with Bulgaria, according to a statement issued by the State Department on Wednesday.

The U.S. welcomes Bulgaria's defense modernization plans and looks forward to the country's imminent selection of a new multi-role fighter aircraft, a press statement of the US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo published on the website of the US Department of State reads, quoted  by the Bulgarian National Radio.

The state will provide BGN 20 million to transform a 13-storey building on the premises of Aleksandrovska University Hospital into a national children's hospital, Prime Minister Boyko Borissov said at the beginning of the weekly government meeting.

Bulgaria will demand another 80m euros to protect its border, which is external to the European Union, Prime Minister Boyko Borisov said at the EU-Africa meeting in Vienna.

Parliament will close the ministry for the Bulgarian presidency of the EU Council and will release Lilyana Pavlova from the post of Minister, reported BGNES. 

This proposal was made by Prime Minister Boyko Borisov and it is included in the agenda of the National Assembly for the last meetings before the Christmas vacation.
