Security Concerns Cancel Friendly Football Match Between Belgium, Spain

The friendly football match between Belgium and Spain, which was scheduled to take place at the King Baudouin stadium in Brussels on Tuesday evening, was cancelled due to security concerns following the attacks in Paris on Friday.

The attacks at six sites across the French capital claimed the lives of 129 people and left hundreds injured.

As police stormed the building he blew himself up, leaving police to identify his body through fingerprints.

French Police Identifies One of Paris Attackers as Frenchman

One of the eight attackers, who carried out gun and bomb attacks at six sites across Paris on Friday night, has been identified as a Frenchman.

French police said that one of the attackers at the Bataclan concert hall, where many people had been held hostages before security forces stormed the building, was identified by his fingerprints as a Frenchman known to security services.

Belgium jihad suspect agrees to be extradited: Greek justice source

A 33-year-old Algerian man with suspected links to the jihadist cell dismantled by Belgian security forces last week agreed on Jan. 20 to be extradited from Greece, a justice source said.
      
The suspect "wants to prove his innocence" and a Greek prosecutor has also agreed to meet Belgium's request for the extradition, the source said.        

No link between Greece arrests and Belgium jihadists: Belgian prosecutor

No link has been established between at least four people arrested by Greek anti-terrorism police and a jihadist cell broken up this week in Belgium, the Belgian prosecutor's office said Jan. 18.
     
"There is no connection between these people and the enquiry" in Belgium, Eric Van Der Sypt, spokesman for the federal prosecutor's office, said.        

Police make arrests in probe of link to Belgian Islamist cell

Greek police detained four people on Saturday over alleged links to an Islamist cell in Belgium, where two suspected terrorists were shot by officers on Thursday.

One of the men, aged 27 is alleged to have been in regular contact with the cell in the Belgian town of Verviers, where two extremists were killed and one arrested.
