BILLA Bulgaria will donate BGN 100,000 to fight the coronavirus in the country as part of the charity campaign 'Together against the coronavirus', initiated by the Bulgarian Red Cross. The campaign is raising funds to support efforts by the National Operational Headquarters to address the epidemiological situation caused by the spread of COVID-19.

A Code Yellow warning of strong winds has been issued for 13 Bulgarian regions for 4 February, the National Institute of Meteorology and Hydrology (NIMH) said on its website.
The warning is in place for the regions of Vidin, Montana, Vratsa, Varna, Shumen, Targovishte, Gabrovo, Lovech, Sofia district, Burgas, Yambol, Haskovo and Kardzhali.

The Bulgarian Red Cross (BRC) is launching an information campaign on socially significant diseases in cardiology and ophthalmology, said the BRC press office.

A cold atmospheric front will pass over the country in the next few hours. Mainly over the West and Central Bulgaria will develop powerful cumulus-rain clouds and in many places there will be short-term, temporary intensive rainfall and thunderstorms.

We continue to work on projects focused on the most vulnerable social groups - children and the elderly, President of the Bulgarian Red Cross Hristo Grigorov told Focus Radio on the occasion of the International Red Cross and Red Crescent Day.

"BDZ-Passenger Transport" provides services for people with disabilities and persons with reduced mobility, announced the press center of the company.

A yellow code for dangerous cold weather has been announced in 12 districts in Western and Central Bulgaria for today, Feb. 24.

Temperatures in Sofia, Sofia, Pernik, Lovech, Gabrovo, Targovishte, Razgrad and Shumen will remain negative throughout the day. In the mountainous part of Montana, Vratsa and Veliko Tarnovo, the daily temperatures will also remain below zero, BNR reported.

The Bulgarian Red Cross (BRC) has brought 16,000 dropouts back to school over the last 10 years. This was stated by the chair of the organisation, Hristo Grigorov, who spoke to Focus Radio.

Celebrations dedicated to 140 years since the establishment of the Bulgarian Red Cross will take place on 25th of October, the press office of the Red Cross said on 24th of October. The jubilee is under the honorary patronage of the President of the Republic of Bulgaria, Rumen Radev, reports BNT.
