Huge slump in short-term rental bookings
Online bookings for short-term holiday rentals in Athens have declined by some 70 percent in recent days due to the Covid-19 epidemic.
Sector professionals say that "it's like we are still in January, although we are heading toward the Easter holidays." It appears that April will be even worse, given the increasing measures against traveling and gatherings in most European countries.

Bulgaria's Govt Allocates Additional BGN 40 M to State-Owned Railway Co
Bulgaria's government has allocated an additional sum of BGN 40 M to the state-owned Bulgarian State Railways (BDZ) company to prevent staff cuts and cancellations of trains.
The move was necessitated by protests in different regions of the country over 38 cancelled trains which caused major inconvenience to people relying on railway transport.
Only a fourth of planned malls completed in Turkey this year
Only 16 of the planned 64 malls in Turkey have been able to be completed this year due to cancellations or postponements in investments, a sector report has shown.
The Floods Scared Off the Seaside Tourists
The recent disastrous floods in the north eastern parts of Bulgaria led to reservation cancellations, said Economy Ministry, quoted by the bTV national channel.
The hotel owners along the coast are already calculating the expected losses as some Russian tourists already started cancelling their vacations.
