Bulgaria is grappling with a staggering burden of cardiovascular diseases, with more than 6 million new cases and over 1.8 million deaths reported annually, according to the Bulgarian news agency BTA. Outgoing Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Mariya Gabriel sounded the alarm on this pressing health crisis during a dedicated conference on cardiovascular health in Europe.

“If further trials show that this medication is safe & can reduce heart attacks & strokes it would be good news as it eliminates a risk factor we’ve been unable to treat”

Unexplained rapid weight loss in elderly persons may indicate an underlying condition and be associated with an increased risk of falls and fractures, as well as a poorer long-term prognosis.

The understanding of factors that may contribute to rapid weight loss is limited, and current therapies include changing inefficient food and physical activity habits.
