Greek govt revises statement: Will issue 'all necessary docs' to Syrian refugees
Government spokesman Gavriil Sakellaridis on Tuesday afternoon first announced that the leftist Greek government intended to issue "travel documents" to Syrian refugees that have requested asylum in Greece, in the wake of a massive influx of irregular migrants over the last three months onto several Greek islands.

Greece has reached a critical point with regards to the strong wave of refugees and illegal immigrants. The local government has also demanded that Europe should provide the necessary assistance so that the problem can be solved.

PM Tsipras to chair interministerial meeting on migration issues
Prime Minister Alexis Tsipras on Tuesday will chair an interministerial meeting on the issue of increased migration flows, according to an official announcement.
Immigration minister says government preparing emergency measures
Alternate Minister for Migration Policy Tasia Christodoulopoulou on Tuesday said that Greece can expect up to 100,000 migrants to cross its borders in 2015, adding that the government is drafting emergency measures to brace for the influx.

A wave of irregular immigrants has struck Greece in recent weeks. Alternate Immigration Policy Minister Tasia Christodolopoulou told private SKAI TV said that her own walk around the center of Athens did not indicate any particular increase in immigrants in Greece. She said "there aren't immigrants in the center. They are just sunning themselves in the morning."
Migrant housing sought in Athens
As some 300 more undocumented migrants landed on Greek shores in less than 24 hours, Alternate Minister for Immigration Policy Tasia Christodoulopoulou on Friday met with Athens Mayor Giorgos Kaminis in a bid to find shelter for the increasing inflows.

President of Republic meets PM at swearing-in ceremony of Alt. Ministers
President of the Republic Prokopis Pavlopoulos ha? a 30-minute private meeting today with Prime Minister Alexis Tsipras, ahead of the swearing-in ceremony of four Alternate ministers.
During the meeting, the PM briefed the president on the discussions he held with European leaders in Brussels.
Migrants face a new uncertain start after release
