Greek terror suspect detained for violating release terms

A 30-year-old woman who had been on conditional release pending trial on charges relating to activities linked to the Conspiracy of the Cells of Fire guerrilla organization was arrested on Tuesday after violating the terms of her release.

The woman had been ordered not to leave Athens, her stated place of residence, but was found in Thessaloniki.

Urban guerrilla group claims responsibility for Berlin attack

Conspiracy of the Cells of Fire, an urban guerrilla group that has seen a number of its members jailed, has claimed responsibility for an arson attack in the early hours of Wednesday on the car of Greek consul in Berlin, Aris Radiopoulos.

No one was injured in the attack, which destroyed the Greek envoy's car and another vehicle, both of which were parked in front of his residence.

Cells of Fire suspect refuses to testify to magistrate


Nikos Romanos, a self-professed anarchist who is in pretrial custody in connection with a string of attacks attributed to the Conspiracy of the Cells of Fire guerrilla group, has refused to testify before magistrates who are said have found DNA evidence further implicating the 21-year-old in the group’s activities.
