Climate activists turn Rome’s Trevi Fountain black
Climate activists in Italy turned Rome's famous Trevi Fountain black on May 21, saying floods that have killed 14 people in the country's northeast were "a warning."
Activists from the anti-climate change organization Last Generation climbed into the landmark fountain and poured a vegetable-based carbon liquid into it, before being pulled out and escorted away by police.

Italy flooded, at least eight victims PHOTO/VIDEO
Practically all the watercourses between Rimini and Bologna burst their banks from yesterday evening to this morning, flooding vast areas of the Romagna.
Local authorities announced that the floods affected 37 cities and towns, and that around 120 landslides were registered.

Entire Italy to Be Declared Red Coronavirus Alert Zone over Easter Holidays
The Italian government intends to make the whole of Italy a Covid-19 'red zone' from 3 to 5 April, a period which includes Easter Sunday and Easter Monday, sources told ANSA on Friday. PM Mario Draghi's government is set to impose a new regime of measures in force from 15 March until 6 April, with coronavirus cases rising sharply in Italy, the sources said.

Italy's Prime Minister Giuseppe Conte has announced the extension of anti-coronavirus measures across Italy, Reuters reports.
There is a travel ban that applies to all Italians.The government said only those with a valid work or family reason that cannot be postponed will be allowed to travel.

30,000 homeless after Italy earthquake (photos-videos)
At least 30,000 people have been left homeless following a powerful 6.5 magnitude earthquake that hit provinces in central Italy on Sunday, according to Italian media. Over 200 aftershocks have been recorded since Sunday, while hundreds of houses across the central part of the counter have been completely destroyed due to the earthquakes over the past 2 months.
Bulgaria Appoints Franco Castellini as Honorary Consul to Italy's Emilia-Romagna
Bulgaria has appointed Franco Castellini as the country's new honorary consul to Italy in charge of the Emilia-Romagna region based in Bologna.
Franco Castellini will replace Giovanni Fagioli whose term of authorisation at the post expired in 2013, the government said in a statement.
