Greece and Bulgaria have agreed to work on the updated schedule of the Interconnector Greece-Bulgaria (IGB), which envisages transportation of Azerbaijani gas, Trend reports.

Consortium between the Italian Arkad ABB S.p.A. and the Saudi Arkad Engineering & Construction Company has been named the winner of the tender for the expansion of Bulgaria's gas transmission system. This is announced by the national gas transport operator "Bulgartransgaz".

The BRUA gas pipeline is fundamental for the European Commission and it is important for the gas to reach Austria regardless of the route to be decided, European Commissioner for Climate Action and Energy Miguel Arias Canete said on Tuesday in Bucharest.

The Arab-Italian consortium "Arkat" offered the lowest price for the construction of the Bulgarian section of the Turkish Stream gas pipeline, it became clear during the opening of the offers. 

The deadline is 250 days. The Hungarian consortium was not admitted to the auction. 

Russia will begin delivering natural gas to Hungary via the TurkStream pipeline in the second half of 2021, Peter Szijjarto, the Hungarian minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade said on March 21.

The Serbian energy regulator has given final approval for the construction of a branch of the TurkStream pipeline, RT is reporting.

Today it will become clear which are  candidates submitted bids for the construction of a gas pipeline between the Bulgarian-Turkish and the Bulgarian-Serbian border.

After the parliamentary meeting with Dmitry Medvedev, Ataka's leader and deputy chairman of the Friendship Group with Russia, Volen Siderov, commented that Bulgaria should not allow "any foreign finger to intervene again to stop" TurkStream. Bulgaria risks encountering the same problems that sank South Stream in its haste to host the planned extension of the TurkStream pipeline into Europe.

Bulgaria is considering joining Russia's TurkStream 2 pipeline proposal and, according to the country's Ministry of Energy, is ready to invest €1.4 billion ($1.6 billion) in the project, reported DW.
