The Church, in a secular state like North Macedonia, should stay out of women's rights and not interfere in laws that do not concern its own affairs, gender equality activists say.

Bulgaria ranks 50th in the world and is among the least developed European countries as regards the participation of women in decision-making processes.

Bulgarian Ombudsman Maya Manolova stated this at a round-table discussion with the labour ministry on the gender equality bill held on Tuesday.
