President Klaus Iohannis is set to attend, starting on Thursday, the extraordinary meeting of the European Council in Brussels, where discussions will focus on the Multiannual Financial Framework of the European Union for 2021-2027, according to a press release of the Presidential Administration .

Romania's President Klaus Iohannis will meet President of the European Council Charles Michel in Brussels on Friday. According to the Presidential Administration, the agenda of this meeting covers negotiations over the budget of the European Union for 2021-2027.

Greece stands to collect some 21 billion euros of European Union subsidies in the next program period that begins next year, European Commission Vice President Margaritis Schinas said on Friday at the National Development Conference in Athens on the Multiannual Financial Framework 2021-27.

The Greek commissioner referred to "an increase by about 8 percent from the current period."

President Klaus Iohannis will be attending a meeting of the European Council in Brussels, October 17-18.

Romania's Minister-delegate for European Affairs George Ciamba on Tuesday chaired the last General Affairs Council (GAC) meeting under the Romanian Presidency of the EU Council.
