Evacuation

A large operation to evacuate by sea people trapped because of Storm Daniel at the Mikros community of Platanias, on the southern coast of Mount Pelio was concluded successfully on Thursday.

Over 150 people, all Greek and foreign tourists, were trapped as of Tuesday morning after the road leading to the community was completely destroyed.

The dramatic developments led the security forces to order the evacuation of the Capitol by the deputies, who were given gas-masks for precaution

The troops of the Carpathian Pumas Detachment took over on Tuesday the missions from their colleagues who acted, between October 2019 - April 2020, in the first rotation of the UN Multidimensional Integrated Stabilization Mission in the Republic of Mali / MINUSMA, shows a release from the Ministry of National Defence (MApN).
