Environmentalists protest tramway construction in Istanbul's Belgrade Forest
A group of environmentalists on Jan. 29 protested the planned construction of a tramway line that is expected to tear through Istanbul's Belgrade Forest, Doğan News Agency has reported.
Two terrorist attacks in Turkey
Two attacks took place in Turkey on the same day, both in Constantinople. One was against the police Headquarters while the second one was against the local offices of President Erdogan’s political party Justice and Development Party’s(AKP) on Friday.
In both attacks the assailants used LAW anti-tank rockets. It is said that two people were involved in the attack.

Radioactive substance stirs panic in Turkey's northwest
The discovery of a radioactive substance stirred panic in the northwestern province of Sakarya on Oct. 20, as a child was hospitalized due to purple-colored spots that appeared on his body.
The 16-year-old child, identified only as Eyüp B., was hospitalized after playing with a metal object he found in a construction site in the Arifiye district.
New tramline through Istanbul's historic Haliç on the way
A tramline that will run on the coast between Istanbul's Eminönü and Eyüp neighborhoods is set to be laid as its environmental impact assessment has begun.
The line, which will carry 10,500 passengers in an hour, will offer a traffic-free sightseeing tour for those who want to see the age-old buildings in Istanbul's historical peninsula and Haliç area.
