Eight detained in Istanbul in operation against PKK
Eight people were detained by Istanbul anti-terror police early on Nov. 5 in an operation against the outlawed Kurdistan Workersâ Party (PKK).
The Istanbul Police Departmentâs anti-terror teams, together with riot police, raided a number of addresses in the Pendik and Sultanbeyli districts, both located on the Anatolian side of the city.
Terror group link prompts police raids and arrests
Police found a Kalashnikov assault rifle, a handgun, a hand grenade and numerous bullets Wednesday while searching homes in Athens and Thessaloniki used by six people who were detained and are linked to bank robberies and possibly terrorist activity.

Bosnia: Arrests of suspected Muslim extremists
SARAJEVO -- Bosnia's State Investigation and Protection Agency early on Wednesday arrested 17 people suspected of having links with the Wahhabi movement.
The operation, codenamed "Damascus," was conducted in 15 cities in Bosnia-Herzegovina, it was announced.

Police arrest fugitive terrorist Nikos Maziotis, reports say
Nikos Maziotis, the self-professed leader of the guerrilla group Revolutionary Struggle who has been at large since July 2012, has been arrested, according to local media reports.
Maziotis was reportedly arrested in Monastiraki, in the center of Athens, on Tuesday after exchanging gunfire with police.
One police officer was injured, reports said.
