Turkish Prime Minister Ahmet Davutoğlu has stated that he has received “strong signals” from U.S. President Barack Obama indicating changes in Washington’s policy on Syria.

Today, there are “more joint parameters” between Turkey and the United States for following an integrated strategy that covers both Iraq and Syria, Davutoğlu said.  

Turkish Prime Minister Ahmet Davutoğlu discussed the crisis in Syria and Iraq with U.S. President Barack Obama on Nov. 15, according to the Turkish Prime Ministry.
      

Iraq will need about 80,000 effective military troops to retake the terrain it lost to militants of Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant (ISIL) and restore its border with Syria, the top U.S. general said on Nov. 13.
   

U.S. air strikes destroyed a convoy of Islamic State in Iraq and the Levant (ISIL) near the Iraqi city of Mosul but U.S. officials said on Nov. 8 it was unclear whether the group's top commander Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi had been in any of the 10 targeted vehicles.

The U.S.-led coalition fighting against Islamic jihadists in Iraq and Syria would benefit from Turkey’s permission to use its airbases, a U.S. commander has said.

The Pentagon has revised its estimate of the cost of the U.S. air war in Iraq and Syria, saying the price tag for the campaign against the Islamic State in Iraq and the Levant (ISIL) comes to about $8.3 million a day.
