The Sofia Municipal Council remains ensnared in a deadlock following the third unsuccessful attempt to elect its chairperson on Thursday. Boris Bonev, the candidate of "We Continue the Change-Democratic Bulgaria" (WCC-DB) and "Spasi Sofia", who previously garnered considerable support but fell short of the required votes, withdrew from the race this time.

The Sofia Municipal Council failed to elect a chairman the first time. The nominees were Boris Bonev from "We Continue the Change-Democratic Bulgaria"/"Spasi Sofia", Diana Tonova from the Bulgarian Socialist Party, Krasimir Galabov from "Vazrazhdane", Plamen Danailov from "There Is Such a People".

2.5 million eggs have imported from Ukraine to Bulgaria under a partnership program, the chairman of the Union of Poultry Breeders, Ivaylo Galabov, has told BNR. He expressed fears that by Easter the import will exceed 10 million and the eggs will be rebranded as Bulgarian. The union will signal the Food Safety Agency to investigate the case of origin manipulation.

Despite the increase in prices of eggs in January from 72.4%, on the annual basis, wholesale prices of Bulgarian eggs are among the lowest in the EU. This is what Ivaylo Galabov, chairman of the Union of Poultry Breeders in Bulgaria said for BTA.

The scenario for early parliamentary elections is becoming increasingly feasible because of the hardening tone in the talks between "There is Such a People" and "Democratic Bulgaria". The prognosis is made by the political scientists Assoc. Prof. Antony Galabov and Assoc. Prof. Petar Cholakov.

''New early elections in Bulgaria during this or the next year would have serious political consequences'', commented political scientist Prof Antoniy Galabov, according to Focus News.
