Train services resume on emotionally charged day

The moment when the inter-city passed the site of the fatal collision was a poignant one as the driver announced that he was 'passing the spot' where 57 people died.

Hellenic Train to pay families of rail crash victims, injured passengers

Hellenic Train, whose train crashed in a head-on collision with a freighter on Feb. 28, killing 57 people on board, announced on Wednesday it will make advance payments to the families of the victims and to the passengers injured in the crash in Tempe, to cover their immediate financial needs.

Two Heavy Crashes Closed The Road To Danube Bridge 2

Two heavy crashes closed the road to Danube Bridge 2 between Montana and Vidin on Thursday evening. The traffic was blocked for hours and that led to huge traffic jams.

The first crash was between a truck and a minibus. Sacks of cream were poured from the truck. The lorry's cabin had to be cut to get the driver out. He was injured and taken to the Vidin hospital.

Patrol car crashed with another traffic light on the capital's Jerusalem boulevard, eyewitnesses said.

To avoid a head-on collision, the police car climbed onto the sidewalk and struck the stairs of nearby shops where there were several people. Luckily the passers-by were not hit.

Seven killed after shuttle carrying workers, light commercial vehicle collide in Turkey's Bursa

Seven people, including two children, were killed and more than 10 were injured early on Sept. 7 after a shuttle bus carrying factory workers collided with a light commercial vehicle in the northwestern province of Bursa. 

The accident occurred at around 7 a.m. in the Babasultan point between Bursa's Kestel and İnegöl districts on the Bursa-Ankara highway.  

41 killed, 299 injured in traffic accidents across Turkey since start of Eid al-Adha

Some 41 people lost their lives and 290 were injured in road accidents across Turkey in the first five days of the extended 10-day-long Eid al-Adha (Feast of Sacrifice) holiday, state-run Anadolu Agency reported on Aug. 30. 

On the fifth day of the holiday alone, Aug. 30, some 12 people were killed and 78 were injured in accidents across the country, the agency stated.
