Liv Hospital receives Center of Excellence accreditation
Turkey's Liv Hospital has received the U.S.-based Surgical Review Corporation's (SRC) Center of Excellence accreditation in three branches.
Entering the health sector three years ago, Liv Hospital, which has locations in Istanbul and Ankara, was the first corporation to receive Center of Excellence accreditation outside the U.S. in several branches.
3-month-old baby, grandfather shot dead in Turkey's Cizre
A 3-month-old baby has been killed alongside her grandfather in the southeastern province of ??rnak after being struck by a bullet at home, after which her grandfather was also shot dead trying to rush the baby to an ambulance.
Bulgarian MPs Adopt National Health Strategy 2014-2020
The Bulgarian parliament adopted on Thursday the national health strategy 2014-2020.
A total of 103 MPs voted in favour of the strategy, 27 lawmakers were against, while 15 abstained, daily Dnevnik informs.
There were hardly any debates on the adoption of the strategy with only one member from the parliamentary health committee delivering a statement.
Bulgarian Parliament to Vote on National Health Strategy
The Bulgarian parliament is to vote on Thursday on the national health strategy (2014-2020).
The strategy, which had been updated this year and approved by the government in November, identifies the priorities and strategic goals for development of the country's healthcare system.
Drug Plug Ban Angers Romanian Advertisers
Romanian advertising companies risks losing over 50 million euro from expected earnings if drug companies are not allowed to advertise on TV and radio any longer.
The figures come from the International Advertising Association Romania, IAA.
The IAA on Wednesday protested against a new law that bans explicit ads for over-the-counter medicines.

Japan donates over EUR 71,000 to health care center
The Japanese government donated EUR 71,750 to the health care center in the Serbian town of Svilajnac.
The goal is to support "improvement in medical care in Serbia," the embassy of Japan said on Monday, quoted by Tanjug.
Minas Hatzisavvas passes away, aged 67
Great Greek actor Minas Hatzisavvas has passed away on Monday at 20:29 at Evagelismos hospital where he was admitted a week ago with a blood haemorrhage after suffering a stroke.
The actor was rushed to the hospital in a coma and the doctors had characterized his condition as critical.

At least 26 people have lost their lives after an fire and an explosion in a disco club in Bucharest, Romania.
Another 145 have been taken to hospital, Agerpres agency quotes the head of the Interior Ministry's emergency situations department, Raed Arafat, as saying.

53 in intensive care in Ankara bombing, says Health Ministry undersecretary
Health Ministry Undersecretary Eyüp Gümü? has announced that a total of 53 patients are in intensive care and receiving treatment after the Oct. 10 Ankara bombing which left at least 97 dead and hundreds wounded.
