PM May's Spokesman: Britain Will be Leaving the EU
Britain will be leaving the European Union, Prime Minister Theresa May's spokesman said on Tuesday after European Council president Donald Tusk suggested the country would be welcome to change its mind and stay in the bloc, Reuters reported.

The President of the European Council, Donald Tusk, took part in the official opening of the Bulgarian Euro Presidency, which took place on Thursday evening in the National Theater. He delivered his entire speech in Bulgarian, beginning with the verse of Ivan Vazov, "Kind Motherland, How Nice You Are!".

EU triggers proceedings against Poland, sanctions could follow
The European Union has triggered Article 7 against Poland, a procedure that could result in sanctions targeting Warsaw, PAP news agency reports. The EU says Poland has violated democratic values with proposed judiciary reform.
The European Union's executive body use Article 7 of the EU treaty what is called a "nuclear option" against Poland on Wednesday.
Tusk distances himself from anti-migrant views
Donald Tusk, president of the European Council, sought to distance himself from the hard-line anti-migrant views of leaders in his native Poland, saying he would never speak about migrants the way they do.

Commission spokesman criticizes Tusk call to end quotas
European Commission spokesman Margaritis Schinas has criticized a proposal by European Council President Donald Tusk for the abolition of mandatory quotas on relocating asylum seekers across the EU.
"Returning to a pre-crisis mode of isolated uncoordinated national actions is not an option," New Europe website quoted Schinas as saying Wednesday.
Missing the mark
The notion of a unified Europe is in no way served by European Council President Donald Tusk's proposal to EU leaders that would essentially scrap the refugee quota scheme which foresees member-states taking in a certain number of asylum seekers.
