Treasury and Finance Minister Mehmet Şimşek has met with U.S. Treasury Secretary Janet Yellen on the sidelines of the G20 finance ministers and central bank governors' summit in Brazil.
"I met with Minister Mehmet Şimşek to discuss how Türkiye and the United States can work together to address crucial regional issues," Yellen wrote on the social media platform X.

Moderate tremor shakes Samos
An earthquake with a preliminary magnitude of 4.4 shook the eastern Aegean island of Samos on Thursday. No damage or injuries were immediately reported.
Athens' Geodynamic Institute said the undersea quake had an epicentre 15 kilometers northwest of the island, near the epicentre of the deadly quake on October 30, 2020, when two people died.

Magnitude 6,2 Earthquake Shook Indonesia, Dead and Injured Reported
A strong, shallow earthquake shook Indonesia's Sulawesi island just after midnight, causing landslides and sending people fleeing from their homes in the nighttime darkness. At least 10 people were confirmed dead and more than 200 injured but authorities were still collecting information from devastated areas.
