Albania, Montenegro Eye EU Funding for Gas Pipeline
Albania's Ministry of Energy on Friday in Tirana unveiled a preliminary feasibility study for a proposed Ionian-Adriatic gas pipeline, hoping the EU may fund construction of the section of the pipeline between Albania and Montenegro.
Albania Spies Gold in Projects Linked to TAP
Albania hopes to be a major player in the distribution of gas in the region as a result of the Trans Adriatic Pipeline, TAP, which will start bringing natural gas from the Caspian Sea to Europe in 2020.
The project, work on which will start within the next three years, will run through Albania with 215 kilometres on land and 37 km offshore in the Adriatic Sea.

Croatian president underlines Turkey's key position in energy transmission lines
Croatian President Kolinda Grabar Kitarovic has highlighted the significance of Turkey's vital regional position in energy transmission lines.
"I cannot highlight enough Turkey's vital position in energy transmission lines," Kitarovic said, speaking at the opening panel of the 7th Atlantic Council Energy and Economic Summit in Istanbul.
Croatia Opens Tender to Build Krk Gas Terminal
LNG Croatia, the state company responsible for constructing a planned gas terminal on the island of Krk on the northern Croatian coast, on Tuesday opened a tender for potential investors.
The planned terminal will receive, store and re-gasify liquefied natural gas, LNG.

BELGRADE -- Banja Luka's Res Gas company Director Slobodan Puhalac says that South Stream represented a project of strategic importance to the Serb Republic (RS).

Beatrice Maser, director at the Swiss State Secretariat for Economic Affairs told BIRN that Switzerland was offering Albania a grant to help it "reap the full benefits of the TAP", the Trans Adriatic Pipeline.
