Greek President presents replica of Kore statue to Chile
Greek President Katerina Sakellaropoulou wrapped up her official visit to Chile unveiling a replica of the Kore statue from the Archaic period that will go on display at Santiago's Grecia metro station. Donated by the Acropolis Museum the artefact is meant to symbolize the friendly ties between the two nations.

Ancient Greek masterpieces showcased in Rome
The Cyclades Ephorate of Antiquities, in collaboration with the Italian Ministry of Culture's Directorate General of Museums and the National Roman Museum, is organizing an exhibition titled "The Moment and Eternity: Between Us and the Ancients" (L'istante e l'eternita. Tra noi e gli antichi) at the Baths of Diocletian in Rome.

Memories of the Nazi occupation
Drawings scratched on the walls of the 4 Korai street prison used by the Gestapo secret police during World War II, in Athens, Thursday. Thousands of Greeks were held in this facility during the Nazi occupation. During WWII, Greece lost 10 percent of its population, almost one million people, of which 400,000 were starved to death, according to statistics.

Yiannis Koutsouris | Athens | To May 14
Painter, cartoonist and illustrator Yiannis Koutsouris returns to the Stoart gallery after a four-year hiatus with a series of works that explore the transition from a childhood in the countryside to life in the big city, as well as a second section that is dedicated to the influence of comic books on his work. Public sector union staging rally on Tuesday during budget debate
Public sector union ADEDY has organized a demonstration in downtown Athens on Tuesday to coincide with a vote in Parliament on the 2019 budget.
Protesters will gather at 6.30 p.m. at Korai Square and then march to Syntagma.

The ninth edition of Ethnofest returns to the Asty cinema in downtown Athens with more than 40 films from Papua New Guinea, Kashmir, Greece, France and other parts, as well as panel discussions and masterclasses, celebrating diversity and exploring different cultures. The event also includes special sections on the refugee crisis and health.

Pavlos Samios | Athens | October 9 - November 8
Acclaimed Greek artist Pavlos Samios presents a series of paintings he did in 1992 while in Paris, in which he explored the then-novel trend of ecology and eco-friendly living. Running through November 8 at the Stoart Gallery, "Lovers of the Earth" opens at 7 p.m. on Tuesday, October 9, and visiting hours are Mondays to Fridays from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m.
