Bulgaria and Serbia Hold Bilateral Tactical Exercise "Lions Land - 2019"
The Lions Land 2019 bilateral tactical exercise began today, October 21, with the participation of military personnel from the Bulgarian and Serbian ground forces, the Ministry of Defense announced. It is being held at the Slivnitsa Training Center in the period 21 - 25 October 2019. 150 soldiers from the Brigade Command - Blagoevgrad take part in it from the Bulgarian side.

Dozens of journalists at the state-run Bulgarian National Radio (BNR) staged a protest Friday in support of media freedom after a colleague known for her coverage of the country's graft-prone judicial system was briefly suspended from her job, writes Reuters.

The telephone thieves took nearly 45,000 leva from an 80-year-old woman from Shumen. On Wednesday, on a stationary telephone called a stranger who had presented himself as a policeman, NOVA reported.
Under the name of Nikolay Krastev, he promised the woman that in gratitude, she will get a lifetime increase in the pension and left a telephone number 08112.

The Fire Near Veliko Tarnovo is Under Conrol
The fire near Veliko Tarnovo is under control, said Krasimir Krastev, Regional Commissioner of the Fire Brigade, reports bgnes.
The fire started last night at a meat-processing plant and burned a 6-acre area. Fusion of styrofoam and subsequently the resin on the roof caught on fire.

Book Naming Bulgarian Oligarchs' 'Servants' Puzzles MEPs
The offices of several Members of the European Parliament have confirmed to BIRN that they have received a mysterious book for free, named "The Bulgarian Oligarchy. They Plundered the State".
It is published by the Bulgarian newspaper Telegraf, which is part of the Balkan Media Company, linked to the controversial media mogul Delyan Peevski.
