BELGRADE - Serbian President Tomislav Nikolic on Friday laid a wreath at the Monument to the Unknown Hero on Mt Avala near Belgrade in commemoration of the WWI Armistice Day.

Nikolic was accompanied by Defence Minister Zoran Djordjevic and the Serbian Armed Forces Chief of General Staff, General Ljubisa Dikovic.

BELGRADE - Commemorating April 23, the Serbian Armed Forces Day, Chief of Staff Gen Ljubisa Dikovic on Saturday laid a wreath at the Monument to the Unknown Hero on Mt Avala near Belgrade in a tribute to those who in 1815 set out to free Serbia from Turkish occupation.

Serbian President Tomislav Nikolic marked Armistice Day on Wednesday by placing a wreath at the Monument to the Unknown Hero on Mt. Avala near Belgrade.

November 11, Armistice Day, is a non-working state holiday in Serbia.

BELGRADE - President of the Republic of Macedonia Gjorge Ivanov arrived on an official visit to Serbia on Friday at the invitation of his Serbian counterpart Tomislav Nikolic.

President Ivanov received a ceremonial welcome in front of the Palace of Serbia, and the meeting between the two presidents will be followed by the talks between the two countries' delegations.
