Erdoğan urges Syria Reconstruction, calls for sanctions relief in talk with Italian PM

President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan stressed the need for immediate action to rebuild Syria during a phone call with Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni on Thursday.

The conversation, which covered a range of bilateral and global issues, highlighted Türkiye's push for a more active role in the region.

Turks, Kurds, others are brothers: Erdoğan

President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan has emphasized the unity of ethnic groups living together in Türkiye, describing Turks, Kurds and others as "brothers."

"We will not allow new walls to be built between us and our brothers with whom we have shared the same geography and lived side by side for thousands of years," Erdoğan said at an event in the northern city of Trabzon on Jan. 5.

Erdoğan: Türkiye will be 'proven right on Palestine as in Syria'

President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan has said Türkiye's stance on the Palestinian conflict would be vindicated, drawing parallels to the country's approach in Syria.

"As it has been for 13 years in Syria, we have not left our Palestinian brothers alone since Oct. 7, 2023," Erdoğan said on Jan. 3 during an event at Istanbul's Haliç Congress Center.

Erdoğan vows unity, progress in New Year message

President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan heralded 2025 as a year of strengthened unity and progress for Türkiye in his New Year's message on Dec. 31.

"I hope that the new calendar year will bring goodness for our country, our nation and all of humanity," Erdoğan said in a statement shared on X.

The president underscored his administration's efforts to enhance the nation's welfare.
