The new Nobel Peace Prize winner will become clear today.

Unlike the Nobel Prizes for Physics, Chemistry, Medicine and Literature, which are given annually in Stockholm, the Peace Prize is awarded in Oslo.

The 2017 Nobel laureates will be presented with their awards by the King of Sweden during a ceremony in Stockholm today.

The organization behind the "Alternative Nobel" said a 2017 prize winner has been barred from leaving her native Azerbaijan to attend the Dec. 1 award ceremony in Stockholm.

After months of uncertainty and controversy, Bob Dylan finally accepted the 2016 Nobel Prize for Literature at a jovial, champagne-laced ceremony on April 1, the Swedish Academy announced.

Singer and songwriter Bob Dylan admitted in the Nobel Prize speech he penned that he was always so caught up in his musical endeavors that he had never stopped to consider whether his lyrics had any literary merit.

Though Bob Dylan will not be attending the Nobel prize award ceremony in Stockholm due to “pre-exisiting engagements,” he is sending musician and singer Patti Smith in his stead.

Swedish poet Tomas Transtroemer, who won the 2011 Nobel Prize for Literature, has died at the age of 83, his publishing house Bonniers said on March 27.
      
Transtroemer, who suffered a stroke in 1990 which affected his ability to speak, wrote poems full of imagery that addressed nature, history and death.
