The government estimates that building a second unit at the Krško nuclear power station would cost €7,000 per kilowatt, which would come to €11 billion in the event Slovenia decides to build the most powerful of several possible units under consideration, a 1,600 MW reactor.

Mitsubishi Heavy 'would consider investing in Areva'
Mitsubishi Heavy Industries Ltd would consider investing in nuclear company Areva , which is being bailed out by the French government, the president of the Japanese company told the Asahi newspaper.
?We will no doubt be consulted (by Areva). Because of our long relationship and, if cooperation is sought, we would consider it seriously,? Shunichi Miyanaga said in an interview.
GDF Suez says Areva guaranteed reactor project in Turkey, turbine in France
French utility GDF Suez said it received guarantees from Areva about nuclear reactors in Turkey as well as wind turbines in France that it plans to build with the nuclear group.
