The Greek government accuses now former citizen protection minister Giannis Panousis for disclosing classified documents, as it results from the statements made by the two ministers who met with Supreme Court prosecutor.

Former citizen protection minister Giannis Panousis’ accusations concerning links between the Radical Left Coalition (SYRIZA) ruling party and terrorist group, Conspiracy of the Cells of Fire, have caused a political stir in the government. SYRIZA officials are downplaying the severity of his claims, despite the domino of revelations that are coming to light in a political avalanche.

Revelations continue regarding Panos Lambros, member of SYRIZA and advisor of the Minister of Justice, who is allegedly named by former Citizen Protection Minister Giannis Panousi as one of the individuals linked to terrorists.

Justice Minister Nikos Paraskevopoulos denied the claims according to which members of SYRIZA had conversations with prisoners discussing even the legislations promoted by the ministry. Mr. Paaskevopoulos even stressed that Panos Lambros was no longer employee of the Ministry of Justice.

Justice Minister Nikos Paraskevopoulos presented an omnibus bill extending the civil partnership union to homosexual couples for public consultation. The European Court of Human Rights had condemned an exclusion clause in the previous bill.

Justice Minister Nikos Paraskevopoulos told Greek Parliament on Tuesday that the Radical Left Coalition (SYRIZ) government plans to make good on its promise to extend civil partnership agreements to same-sex couples.

The new Greek government was announced by SYRIZA MP and new government spokesperson Olga Gerovasili. The new government is expected to be sworn in Wednesday at 10.30 am (Greek time):
