Doctors decry pharmacists’ expanded powers
The medical associations of Athens and Piraeus have reacted to a Health Ministry amendment introduced in a multi-bill voted through Parliament on Wednesday, which expands the scope of pharmacists' jobs so that they can officially administer seasonal vaccinations and tetanus jabs.

Pharmacies in Bulgaria Remain in Protest Readiness
Pharmacies remain in protest readiness. This was said by Anton Valev, chairman of the National Pharmacy Chamber, after a meeting with Deputy Minister of Health Boyko Penkov. Valev stressed that pharmacies would not close, but the pharmacists would be with yellow vests.

Protest: Over 700 Pharmacies in Sofia and Bulgaria will not Work
In Sofia and in the country 762 pharmacies will not work today. This is what Anton Volev, chairman of the National Pharmacy Chamber, told BTA. Nearly 40 of the pharmacies are in Sofia, he specified.

Vaccination campaign held in central Athens
An awareness campaign promoting the benefits of vaccinations got under way on Monday in central Athens and will last until November 4.
The main message of the campaign, an initiative of the Panhellenic Pharmacists' Association (PFS), is that vaccinations protect people, families and society.

Currency woes hit pharmacies, drug supplies in Turkey
Patients are finding it increasingly difficult to acquire drugs in the market, and the main reason behind the problems regarding drug supplies is the currency rates, Nurten Saydan, the head of the Employer Pharmacists' Association (TEİS), has said.
Seven People Detained after Raids in Two Oncology Hospitals in Sofia and Blagoevgrad
On 4th of October, anti-mafia teams entered the Hematological Hospital "John Paul" in Sofia and "St. Mina" in Blagoevgrad because of suspicion for abuse of medicines for treatmenet of cancer patients. Investigators checked how many sick people were admiitted to the hopitals, how many medicines were administered for the day and how many were actually used.

Pharmacies around Attica will be shut on Monday due to the Pentecost holiday but shops will remain open, their respective associations said on Friday.
According to the Attica Pharmacists Association, only duty pharmacies will be open.
