Rhodes fire burning at three fronts, in largest evacuation operation ever in Greece
Firefighters battled a blaze burning in three active fronts on the island of Rhodes on Sunday, while Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis was being briefed on developments constantly.
Villages evacuated on Rhodes as wildfire bears its teeth
Four villages and a hotel are being evacuated on the southeastern Aegean island of Rhodes as strong winds continue to stoke a wildfire that broke out in the early hours of Wednesday near the village of Apollonas in the western mountains.
Powerful Earthquake Rocked Crete, One Man Killed
A man has died from the strong earthquake of 5.8 Richter in Crete.
The victim is one of the three people reported to have been trapped in the church of Profitis Ilias in Arkalochori.
According to the information of protothema.gr, the dome of the church collapsed, as a result of which a person was fatally injured.

Romanian firefighters in Greece protect Profitis Ilias Monastery in Vilia
The Romanian military firefighters currently on mission in Greece have ensured, throughout Tuesday, until the early hours of Wednesday, protection against the wildfires for the Profitis Ilias Monastery in the area of Vilia. They deployed to the area with a fire engine, a cistern, an offroad vehicle, an utility terrain vehicle (UTV), and a drone.

Romanian military firefighters on mission in Greece acted on Monday to limit the spread of flames in the Vilia area, as well as to maintain a line of protection between the fire front and the unaffected areas.
