Turkey fires warning shots - attack from the sea
As it is stated, by implementing dangerous maneuvers, the Turkish ship forced the Cypriot vessel to leave the area and enter the port of Kato Pyrgos.

Man fatally shoots wife in Mani
Police have arrested a 44-year-old man on suspicion of shooting and killing his wife.
The incident took place in the village of Pyrgos Dirou in the Mani peninsula in the Peloponnese late Sunday.
Reports said the victim was mother of two minor children.
There was no immediate word on the man's motives.

Cleric claims Jesus wants new highway
Bishop Germanos of the Ilia prefecture in southern Greece claimed at a rally on Thursday that he had been told by Jesus Christ to urge Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis to expedite construction work for a new highway linking the towns of Patra and Pyrgos.

Rain causes damage in Crete, power cuts in Attica

ATM blast outside supermarket in Pyrgos causes damage, no injuries
An explosion at a bank ATM outside a supermarket in Pyrgos, southern Greece, in the early hours of Thursday, caused damage to the façade of the store but no injuries.
According to the police, the unknown perpetrators channeled flammable gas into the machine before igniting it to cause the explosion.
They fled with an undetermined sum of cash from the ATM.

Operation under way to rescue snowbound shepherds on Skopelos
