Bulgaria can use Iran as a doorway into other markets to sell its goods there, Foreign Minister Daniel Mitov has said while on a two-day visit to Tehran.

Mitov made his comments after meetings with Iranian counterpart Mohammad Javad Zarif and, later with the country's ministers of transportation and culture, Abbas Akhoundi and Ali Jannati, respectively.

Opportunities for expanding gas and transport links between Iran and Europe were high on the agenda of Sunday's talks between Iran's President Hassan Rouhani and Bulgarian Foreign Minister Daniel Mitov in Tehran on Sunday.

Iranian President Hassan Rouhani said that Iran will probably sign a deal to buy Airbus aircraft during his visit to France starting on Nov. 16. 

"We already use Airbus or Boeing planes today," Rouhani said, according to a transcript of an interview with broadcaster France 2 and Europe 1 radio, made available to AFP on Nov. 11 ahead of its airing.

On the second day of their official visit to Iran, a Serbian delegation headed by Foreign Minister Ivica Dacic conferred with Iranian President Hassan Rouhani.

According to a statement from the Serbian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, quoted by Tanjug, "Rouhani who said that his country is ready to intensify economic cooperation with Serbia."

Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdo?an met with Iranian President Hassan Rouhani as part of his official visit to Tehran on April 7.

The trip comes amid recent tension between Ankara and Tehran over the Saudi-led bombing campaign in Yemen.

A day after the historic agreement on Iranian nuclear weapons, Iranian president Hassan Rouhani stated that it will be a day to remember in the annals of Iran’s history.

Iran's President Hassan Rouhani warned Dec. 8  that corruption poses a threat to the Islamic republic, pinning the blame in a thinly-veiled attack on powerful monopolies that control the economy.
      
"The people made the revolution in order to wipe out corruption," Rouhani told delegates at a conference in Tehran.
