Last week’s defiant words from the leftist SYRIZA government gave way to a more diplomatic mood on Monday, as Greek leadership tried to “mend fences” with European partners.
The developments came as G7 host Angela Merkel warned that time was running out to free-up cash left over in a second bailout package and avoid any risk of a Greek default.

The Financial Times leaked Greece’s new debt restructuring plan, stating that the new agreement to complain its 172-billion-euro bailout program that was presented to Prime Minister Alexis Tsipras on Wednesday night contained no promise of debt relief.

A top minister on Thursday admitted that the infamous email sent by the previous government’s FinMin was “less painful” than the conditions presented this week by creditors.

An increasingly cash-strapped and pressured Greek government on Wednesday hinted at the commencement of procedures for a “Staff Level Agreement” at a same-day Brussels Group session — a development that would signal the final stretch towards a deal with institutional creditors.
