Seville Airbus A400M Atlas crash

The crew of an A400M military transporter that crashed last month tried in vain to regain control of three engines that froze due to a suspected software problem, according to details of investigations published on June 3.

Airbus Defense & Space on May 19 ordered engine software checks on the A400M aircraft following a recent crash of Europe's new military transporter.

Shares in European aerospace giant Airbus fell more than three percent in opening trade May 11 after one of its A400M military planes crashed in Spain over the weekend, killing four.

The Turkish Air Force has temporarily grounded its two Airbus A400Ms after the crash of a plane of the same type in Spain, daily Hürriyet learned May 10. 

At least four people were killed May 9 when an A400M crashed near Seville airport in southern Spain during a test flight, the first fatal incident involving the new transport craft.

Germany's air force has temporarily grounded its sole Airbus A400M until an investigation determines the cause of the crash of a plane of the same type in Spain, a military spokesman said May 10.
 

An Airbus A400M military plane crashed into a field 1.6 kilometers north of San Pablo airport in Seville in southern Spain on May 9 while apparently on a test flight, officials said.

Prime Minister Mariano Rajoy said between eight and 10 people were on board, Spanish newspaper El Pais reported. The prime minister's office could not confirm the comments.
