Regulations under scrutiny following deadly clash between school shuttle companies in Istanbul

The Istanbul Provincial Directorate of National Education has submitted a report to the Education Ministry asking for school shuttle regulations to be revised following a recent fatal clash between shuttles of separate companies in the premises of a primary school in Istanbul's Ümraniye district, daily Habertürk reported on Sept. 7. 

Most Turkish families worried about security when their children go to school

Some 64 percent of parents in Turkey are worried about the security of their children as they go to school, Bahçeşehir University academic Professor Osman Öztürk has stated, commenting on the results of a recent study. 

"What's more, 73 percent of parents are worried about the time when their children are at school," Öztürk told daily Birgün. 

Shuttle Bus Driver Pulls Gun On Jaywalker In Sofia

A shuttle bus driver pulled a gun on a jaywalker after an argument at the intersection of Slivnitsa boulevard and Opalchenska street in Sofia, reports the BNR public broadcaster.

According to the testimony of passengers in the bus and motorists, the driver and the pedestrian got into a heated argument and the driver put a gun to the head of the jaywalker on Thursday morning.
