Sofia. The Criminal Code should prosecute the illegal manufacture of excise goods, not only holding or selling goods without duty stamps, Prosecutor General Sotir Tsatsarov said, commenting on the control over excise goods and the changes needed in the existing excise legislation, Focus News Agencyreports. 

Sofia. In Bulgaria there is real industrial capacity, full mobility and full autonomy of illegal cigarette production, Prosecutor General Sotir Tsatsarov said at a meeting of the Parliament's Monitoring Committee on the Revenue Agencies and Combating Parallel Economy and Smuggling, Focus News Agency reported.

Bulgaria's Prime Minister Boyko Borissov met with the Bavarian Chief Public Prosecutor Reinhard Roettle, who is on an official visit to Bulgaria at the invitation of Chief Prosecutor Sotir Tsatsarov, the government's press office announced on 19th of September.

Sofia. Over the past 6 months, we have caught over 10 million cigarettes, the largest quantities have been in Pleven and Stara Zagora, Interior Minister Valentin Radev said during the presentation of a new study on cigarette smuggling in Bulgaria for the first quarter of 2018, Focus News Agencyreports. 

An organized crime group for racketeering and drug trafficking was detained in a special operation in the Burgas region, the prosecution announced. The action was organized and conducted jointly by the Specialized Prosecutor's Office and the DGCOC.
