The most powerful solar flare since 2017 has been registered so far. The sun has expelled a mass with values unseen for close to a decade, reports UPI. In less than 24 hours, the sun has unleashed three waves of X-class flares, the highest magnitude on the scale measuring the intensity of solar eruptions.

A NASA telescope has captured the biggest solar flare in years, which temporarily knocked out radio communication on Earth.
The sun spit out the huge flare, resulting in two hours of radio interference in parts of the U.S. and other sunlit parts of the world. Scientists said it was the biggest flare since 2017.

A Magnetic Storm Hits the Earth over the Weekend
A magnetic storm is expected to hit the Earth on the last day of August. The warning is from the Center for Space Weather Forecasts at the US National Agency for the Study of Atmosphere and Oceans. The cause of the geomagnetic disturbance is high-speed solar wind. At this stage, the forecast is for a light magnetic storm (G1).
