Bulgaria celebrates 147 years since the April Uprising. According to tradition, there will be reenactments of the April Uprising, which marked the beginning of the Bulgarian liberation movement, at the historical sites.

"The Bulgarian army will continue to help the population in the flood-affected settlements in the municipality of Karlovo for at least another month.

Initial checks show that there is no illegal logging in the Bulgarian region of Karlovo, which has suffered severely from flooding following torrential rains. This was stated on BNT by Eng. Stoyan Toshev, executive director of the Forestry Agency.

48 hours after the water disaster that befell the villages along the Stryama river, the situation remains dire. The huge amount of rain, which literally flooded several villages in Karlovo region, destroyed agricultural production and forced the evacuation of people, reports BNT.

Throughout the night, the critical sections along the course of the Stryama River, which flooded 5 villages in Karlovo region, remained under observation. Heavy downpours, which poured more than 190 liters of water per square meter, led to the destruction of several bridges, dragged trees, cars and household items along their path.

"Cougar" helicopters of the Bulgarian Air Force were sent to Karlovo region for rescue operations. The situation is still alarming.

A partial state of emergency has been declared in five villages in the Sub-Balkan (Podbalkan) region in Bulgaria, following heavy rains that fell in the area last night. The Sub-Balkan road is closed to traffic due to flooded sections.

Late last night, the train from Varna to Sofia hit in fallen rocks and dragged trees in the area before the village of Stryama. The locomotive was damaged in the accident, but luckily there are no injuries, writes NOVA.

The accident occurred around  4:30 this morning.

120 children, located in the Boris Hristov Culture House were provided with help.

Kaufland Bulgaria has opened a new base in its logistics complex in Rakovski Industrial Zone, Stryama village (Plovdiv district). The investment is over 64 million leva and opens nearly 100 jobs.

Bulgaria's President Rumen Radev said on 12th of November that resignations were not a decision but an escape. The head of state's comments came a day after protests in the country against fuel prices and the raising of the old car tax and third party liability insurance and demanding resignations .
