Syrian businesspeople, who have recreated their companies in Turkey since 2012, have complained about being treated like "refugees" by some circles, adding that, although they were happy, it was not easy to do business in the country.

Four people injured in brawl between locals, Syrians in Turkey's Adana

Four people were injured following a brawl between locals and Syrians in the southern province of Adana late on Feb. 27, Doğan News agency has reported.

The brawl erupted for an unknown reason between neighborhood residents and Syrians who reside in tents in the Bahçelievler neighborhood of Yüreğir district.

World Bank approves $100 million in financing to create 100,000 jobs for Jordanians, Syrian refugees

Aiming to create 100,000 new jobs for Jordanians and Syrian refugees in the next five years, the World Bank's Board of Directors has agreed to offer Jordan $100 million in financing at rates usually reserved for the poorest countries, World Bank Group President Jim Yong Kim announced on March 27.

Minister: 1,300 Syrians currently jailed in Turkey

Some 1,300 Syrians are currently jailed in Turkey, Justice Minister Bekir Bozda? announced, noting that 2,400 Syrians in total have been imprisoned due to arrests or convictions. Bozda?'s announcement came late Feb. 17 during a session of the parliament's general assembly while he was responding to questions from opposition deputies on a draft law concerning citizens' personal data.

Almost 70,000 Syrian babies born in Turkey: Deputy PM

Five years into the conflict of the neighboring country, almost 70,000 Syrian babies have been born in Turkey so far, Turkish Deputy Prime Minister Yalç?n Akdo?an has announced.

During a briefing to the parliament's Planning and Budget Commission on Jan. 28, Akdo?an elaborated on health services provided for more than 2.5 million Syrian refugees in Turkey.

Germany proposes short-term jobs for half a million Syrians

Germany proposes creating up to 500,000 short-term jobs to help Syrian refugees survive in overburdened Middle Eastern host countries, the minister for economic cooperation said during a visit to Jordan on Jan. 26.

Germany will raise the idea at next week's annual Syria aid conference in London, Gerd Mueller told The Associated Press.
