Intl animation festival Animasyros 8.0 again on Syros
The international animation festival Animasyros 8.0 will get underway this week on the Cyclades island of Syros, with a tribute to noted Israeli director Ari Folman and screenings of his works a highlight of events.
Folman is also set to premiere a short segment of his new animated work based on the Anne Frank’s Diary.

The boy was killed after he fell off a ride at Kalo Livadi beach and was hit by the speedboat that had been hauling the ride. The two suspects are the speedboat driver and the owner of the firm offering the rides on the Cycladic island.
Myconos club owner, Peloponnese ex-businesswoman arrested for tax evasion
The Financial Crimes Squad (SDOE) has arrested a 50-year-old nightclub owner on the Aegean island of Myconos on charges of tax evasion.
Authorities said that an inspection found that the business had failed to issue 11,225 euros worth of receipts to its customers.
The suspect was to face a prosecutor on the island of Syros.

Sunday opening pilot scheme extended to Myconos, Santorini

The government has decided to extend the pilot scheme concerning year-round Sunday opening for retail stores to 10 areas around the country, prompting the resignation of the head of the National Confederation of Greek Commerce (ESEE), Vassilis Korkidis, from the commerce department of the larger of the two coalition parties, New Democracy on Monday.
